Art & Nature Summer Camp 2024

What is Art & Nature Camp?

  • Play & Explore

Play and exploration will be at the cornerstone of all our art and nature activities. Depending on the age group, attention spans, and interests of the children, activities will be open-ended, process-oriented, and extremely varied. A daily diversity in activities and materials will be explored. FUN, EXPLORATION and ENGAGEMENT will be the primary objectives of all our experiences together!

  • Adventures

Our summer camps will be filled with exciting activities, from tree climbing adventures to foraging for berries, using recyclables and natural objects to craft unique pieces of art. As we run, dance, sing, and play, we will seamlessly incorporate science and storytelling into our daily adventures. In the world of art, we'll explore themes like land and sea animals, bees, birds, flowers, trees and art from different corners of the world.

  • Discover the world

For our nature camp, get ready for scavenger hunts, designing homes for animals, discovering insects, and weaving science and art into our engaging lessons. It's a holistic approach to learning that ensures your children not only have a blast but also develop a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the boundless possibilities of artistic expression.

Meet the Summer Camp Teacher!

  • I am Suzan Greenfield, an enthusiastic preschool educator with over 40 years of dedicated teaching experience, having shared my passion for learning with children across the nation. Currently, I take great pleasure in being a preschool teacher at Fremont Community School, where the joy of teaching continues to fuel my commitment to fostering creativity and curiosity in young minds.

Art and nature hold a special place in my heart, and last year when Tara proposed the idea of leading summer camps that celebrate these passions, I couldn't resist saying YES! My teaching philosophy is centered around providing a nurturing space and a variety of materials, allowing children to explore and express themselves freely. I prioritize the creative process, encouraging a sense of accomplishment and confidence in their artistic endeavors while ensuring a lot of fun along the way!

Should you have any questions or curiosities, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am genuinely thrilled at the prospect of meeting and inspiring your children through a week of educational and joyous adventures.

Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of guiding your child's exploration of art and nature this summer!
